We spent 3 weeks driving in the UK visiting Arthurian locations from my book (Young Knights...) and thoroughly loved the hours spent at Tintagel. I find new lovers of the Legend as I visit with young people. And although I realize that Arthur probably wasn't a real person, I still hesitate when people ask me if I believe. I hesitate and then I answer "Yes."ccarpinellohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15082365571251151043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4044457453847267877.post-71741149639519749162019-09-06T19:51:23.541+01:002019-09-06T19:51:23.541+01:00Yes, I do believe Arthur is not one but many men w...Yes, I do believe Arthur is not one but many men whose names, as you so rightly say, are lost in history.Mary Anne Yardehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11350612918063788778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4044457453847267877.post-50623961497442931002019-09-06T19:50:37.451+01:002019-09-06T19:50:37.451+01:00Thank you, Penny! Arthur may well have been a composite character made up of the feats of a number of bold leaders by Geoffrey of Monmouth (as some historians have suggested), but those threads have their grounding in the deeds of men whose names are long forgotten. It is a collective memory kept alive through storytelling.timwalker1666https://www.blogger.com/profile/08987392124172418055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4044457453847267877.post-47818421054653432512019-09-06T07:45:46.055+01:002019-09-06T07:45:46.055+01:00A thought-provoking article, Mary Anne. These tales have lasted and been passed down for centuries -- pretty amazing! Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
