This era of history always fascinates, and who doesn't love a historical conspiracy?! If I may ask, what inspired you to write your book?
ReplyDeleteThere are various factors that motivated me to write this book. The first and foremost is to support those lesser-known researchers who have done considerable and serious work in the area of Hitler's true fate. The second is to tell the stories of a few people who, though eyewitnesses to Hitler's escape, were ignored by mainstream historians. Thirdly, this book is a dedication to the countless victims of the Holocaust.
DeleteWhy do you think those researchers were not taken seriously? I know I probably have to read the book, but do you think there was a cover up?
DeleteThere has been a lot of cover up indeed. I suggest you consider reading the books Eyewitness to the Escape of Hitler by Peter David Orr and Seeing Hitler by Aubrey Temples who was a an American soldier and POW in Germany during the end of the second world war.
DeleteWhat a fascinating subject for a book. It reminds me a bit of Robert Harris' Fatherland - now that was a chilling read.
ReplyDeleteFatherland was really chilling, your book sounds just as intriguing. I will certainly be checking it out in the future.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the book, but I did see the movie, and that was bad enough.
DeleteThank you
DeleteIs this book based around the conspiracy that he escaped to Argentina? I have always wondered if there is any truth to it. On another note, will your book be out on audio?
ReplyDeleteYes, Argentina, Maddie, although I don't really buy into that conspiracy, there is no way someone like him would go down quietly and live a life of exile. But, nevertheless, it is an interesting premie for a book and it is one I shall add to my to-read list.
DeleteIt would have been truly vile if he did live after everything he did. If he was living in South America and never stood to account for everything he, and the others, did, then it would have made the Nuremberg trials nothing more than show trials, like in Russia under Stalin. And if he did survive then whose bodies were those that were found. Didn't the Dr of propaganda kill his entire family, children and all? that in itself is utterly vile, but if it were not his children, then whose? It makes me feel sick just thinking about it. But I guess that is why it is such a interesting era in history because they were so evil.
DeleteJust looking at their pictures gives me the creeps, but the story sounds absolutely fascinating.
ReplyDeleteTwilight of Evil is an aptly fitting name for a book about these monsters. I am however, very intrigued and I have added your book to my to-read list.
