Their father strives for peace but his motives are always questioned, and his enemy, Edmund Beaufort, fills the sickly King Henry VI's ears with slander and lies.

Peace will not last.

St Alban's is coming, a brutal battle that will determine Edmund 's fate four years later on the bridge of Wakefield, where Butcher Clifford waits.

  1. This era of history is so brutal. I know there is some debate about how Edmund died, whether it was when he tried to escape across the bridge at the Battle of Wakefield, or whether Lord Clifford had him executed. It is so sicking to think of many died during the Cousins War. I have never come across a book about Edmund's life before. I will certainly be checking your book out.

  2. He was only 17 when he died. I can't even begin to imagine how frightened he must have been. Such a tragic loss to his family. I have added your book to my to-read list.
