"...A grave for
March, a grave for Gwythur,
A grave for Gwgawn of
the ruddy Sword,
No wise the thought a
grave for Arthur..."
Le Morte D'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory
Nestled along a ridge of rocky outcrops on the beautiful Bodmin Moor lies King Arthur's
bed.
King Arthur's Bed |
It
is said that this bed was hollowed out especially for Arthur, although whether
it was his bed or his coffin is up for debate.
Cornwall
has a long association with Arthurian legends, so it seems only fitting that
Arthur had a tomb made there. Arthur's Bed is very close to Trewortha Tor and
Hawk's Tor, both of which are worth checking out if you ever find yourself in
the area!
